How we count visits,
and how to stop us counting yours
We measure how our websites and apps are used so we can improve them. We do it ourselves, on our own servers, without analytics cookies, and nobody else receives the figures.
Your visits are counted anonymously
We count the pages you visit as described below, without cookies and without identifying you.
This stores one small cookie, cs_no_count, on this browser so we remember your choice. It applies to all Construct Software websites and apps, holds no personal data and lasts 5 years, or until you choose to be counted again or clear your cookies.
What we count
Pages, not people
For each page we record the page address, the date and time, the website that linked to it (just the site's name), any campaign codes in the link, the country you are in, and your type of browser, operating system and device. On some pages a small script of ours also notes your screen size, how long the page was in view, how quickly it loaded, how far down you scrolled and any technical error, and when you click a link to another website, a file to download, or an email or phone link (only the other site's name or the file, never the email address or number).
- No analytics or advertising cookies, and nothing else stored on your device
- Your IP address and browser details are not kept: to count different visitors in a day we turn them into a code using a random value that is destroyed every night, so the code cannot recognise you on another day
- Help Centre searches: we keep the words searched for (with email addresses and long numbers removed) as daily totals, never who searched
- Never what you type into a form, or anything you upload
- Never shared with or sold to anyone, and never used for advertising
- Detailed records are deleted after 90 days; we keep only totals, such as visits per page per day, for 25 months

Your browser
Switch on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track: we honour both on every site, automatically.
Your account
Sign in to Construct Software ID and switch on "Don't count my visits" under Preferences. It applies wherever you sign in.
Countries are worked out with IP Geolocation by DB-IP (licensed under CC BY 4.0), on our own server: your address is not sent to DB-IP.
